NEARBUY is the Middle East’s regions first GeoLocation driven mobile discount app. easily downloadable from the Istore Blackberry or the Android store, Nearbuy is a discount based application that by using your geographical location and GPS, allows you to get push notifications about discounts and offers from all your favorite brands. While you are in the mall, The Nearbuy App will inform you “real time” which stores are giving discounts in the mall that you are in.
NEARBUY partners with well-known shopping brands to offer its consumers a real value added deals and discounts simply by being there and using the app during check out.
NEARBUY strategic partnership with Nearbuy has extended from the complete design of the apps and to leveraging Prism’s expertise in Social Media, Search Engine Marketing, Lead Generation and SEO, and now extends to the full integration of a mobile responsive UMBRACO -based site.
What did the client want?
- To create a mobile-friendly website experience for on the go customers in shopping malls

- The website site would be easy to use and manage as there were constant and daily changes in the content of the page. So Prism Created a singular mobile website for them based on the UMBRACO platform for Ecommerce (ECMS)
Near buy’s primary target audience is Shoppers in Dubai. As the trafﬁc coming from mobile devices increased among the United Arab Emirates users (mobile visits now make up 70% of total trafﬁc), Prism identiﬁed a need to adapt the site to a responsive layout. Many of our clients have seen mobile trafﬁc increase by more than 400% in the last year.
What did Prism do?
Based on the client’s requirements, Prism created a responsive website for Nearbuy with a completely flexible architecture. Prism Communication used the latest techniques in HTML 5 to create a responsive Mobile-based website which actively responds to the user’s particular device. This method creates a user-friendly experience no matter how users view the site (without the need to build multiple websites). Responsive web design is relatively new, and has been seldom utilized in the United Arab Emirates.
UI and UX:
Since the website was supposed to be responsive and mobile enabled we took special care to make sure that mobile website for NEABUY is flexible enough to accommodate every screen size. There are flexible frameless design makes it very easy for the website to adjust
One look at the website and judging from the speed at which it loads, you would never guess that there are animated banners and more than 50 offer and products showcased in it. This is the magic of the technology with which this website has been built. This entire website features a bilingual English and Arabic side, making it 2 websites in one seamless website.
Content Management System:
The site is managed by a bespoke UMBRACO Content Management System (CMS) built to manage every content and images on the site. It also manages the social media sharing aspects of the site. Being a modular content management system, Umbraco was the best choice for us to create a responsive and easy to manage site.
Since the site was both in English and Arabic, the content management solution was critical and Umbraco was of course our best solution to manage this high end site.
The website is designed to attract parents and their children into the site and convert these visitors into actual sales/paying customers with the download app function modules, this enabled visitors on the site to become real customers and drive traffic to their partner’s stores and thus generates ROI for the company and their partnered retailers.
The site is extremely SEO friendly. And has a host of SEO friendly features inbuilt into the website.
Responsive Web Design Increases Sales
